Since I ̶M̶e̶t̶L̶e̶f̶t̶ You
I was tasked with creating an original, design-oriented piece on any subject, situation, or topic of my choice for my undergraduate-level senior year gallery exhibition.
Problem: Create a complex, open-ended original piece of work or works that explores a subject or situation through design in any format. The thesis project must be design-oriented, rooted in design processes and thinking and research, and based on research and precedents collected from other designers, artists, creatives, and makers.
Solution: I created a video visual experience using motion design techniques and (self, not AI-generated!) video and photo manipulation about my experiences with having hyperfixations on interests I’ve had throughout my life. The goal of this project was to give visibility to hyperfixations and special interests, two similar, understudied and underrepresented concepts in the psychology field, specifically in neurodiversity studies.
This video was featured in Sojourn, the 2025 Senior Design Thesis Exhibition at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
